Critters and Creatures

 • KNOWN CRITTERS and CREATURES LIST

(Aside from the regular creatures and wasteland dwellers that will likely try to kill you)

cactopods - If you see any catcuses move, odds are they're not your usual cactii. These mutated plants have psuedopods with fanged suckers. If given the opportunity, they'll quickly drain you of your fluids before you ever see a drop of theirs. The flowers that grow on them are said to be of particular value to a certain scientist.

doombunnies - These mutant jackrabbits are feral carnivores and extremely vicious. Thankfully, they don't breed as much as regular rabbits. If you do see one, that hare must die, or you will.

giant scorpions - As if the regular variety wasn't bad enough, these giant mutant specimens can be as the size of a large dog or as big as a pickup truck.

glow worms - Glow worms vary in size, glow in the dark and thrive on radiation. They will attack living creatures if they feel threatened, but derive most of their sustenance from irradiated soil.

OPStrich (a.k.a. cassowar) - The opstrich only vaguely resembles the flightless ostrich bird. It is a large, two-legged, automated combat mech, usually armed with machine guns and a flamethrower. Or lasers. Possibily missiles as well. Did we mention the armor plating? Avoid at all costs.

rad zombies ("raddies") - These poor bastards have been mutated and irradiated to the point that no life remains in them, and yet they shamble on.

toxic zombies - These shambling husks drip with the poisonous waste that contaminated them. They drop easily enough, just don't let them touch you.

warwolves - It's unknown if these creatures evolved from coyotes or wild dogs or were perhaps some sort of miltary genetic experiment. They are often sighted near old military installations. They are semi-intelligent and can run on all fours or stand on two legs. Some nefarious individuals have been said to employ them like bloodhounds or hunting dogs, sending them after escaped prisoners.
